Vertech Group officially opened an office in Roma, Queensland on the 29th November 2019 by Vertech Managing Director, Tom Brennan.

About Roma, QLD NDT Regional Branch

In 2020, Vertech Group, our Australia-based inspection and integrity business, entered into an Asset purchase agreement with a global Asset integrity provider to acquire the people, facilities and equipment for a regional branch based in Roma, Queensland. Following the agreement, the branch was rebranded and seamlessly integrated into Vertech, becoming a distinguished regional support under its banner.

The local Roma team at that time had a great depth of knowledge across a broad range of non-destructive testing NDT inspection techniques, lifting equipment inspection and testing, with a strong capability in computerised radiography.

Using NDT in Oil & Gas Infrastructure

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and inspection play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, safety, and reliability of pipelines, upstream onshore gas wells, and oil and gas infrastructure at large.

These processes are instrumental in identifying potential defects, corrosion, or structural issues without compromising the structural integrity of the components. In the context of pipelines, NDT techniques, such as ultrasonic testing and magnetic particle inspection, help detect hidden flaws and ensure the structural soundness of the pipes, preventing catastrophic failures.

Upstream onshore gas wells, subjected to harsh operational conditions, require regular inspections to identify corrosion, metal loss, and other defects that could compromise operational efficiency and safety. For oil and gas infrastructure in general, comprehensive NDT and inspection protocols are critical for compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and ensuring the longevity of assets.

These practices not only enhance safety but also contribute to efficient maintenance planning, minimising downtime and ensuring the sustained and reliable operation of vital energy infrastructure.
